Esther Bible Study

“The king loved Esther more than all the other women, and she obtained grace and favor in his sight more than all the virgins; so he set the royal crown upon her head and made her queen instead of Vashti.”
-      Esther 2:17

I am currently studying the book of Esther through a Beth More Bible Study: “Esther- It’s Tough Being a Woman.”
A particular lesson really stood out to me, and it is titled, “A Crown on Her Head.” This lesson narrows in on the day that Esther, a Jewish maiden, was crowned queen of Persia. What Beth Moore really points out on this day is why Esther was chosen as the queen.
Verse 17(above) says that Esther obtained grace and favor in the sight of the king-more than anyone else. So what does this mean? Why was she so special? Why did she obtain grace and favor? I was so curious, and the author answers my questions so perfectly.
Esther possessed qualities that every woman should aspire to have. Not only was she liked by the king, she was liked by the other women competing for the crown. This is crazy to me. I know I’m not the only one who has had some not so happy thoughts towards my competition. How in the world did someone manage win favor from everyone who saw her?
Esther was humble, kind, genuine, likable, and endearing. Here are each of these attributes broken down:
Humble- not proud or arrogant; modest
Kind- a good or benevolent nature or disposition; mild, gentle, considerate, helpful
Genuine- possessing the claimed or attributed character, quality, or origin; not counterfeit, authentic, real
Likable- readily or easily liked, pleasing
Endearing- tending to make dear or beloved; manifesting or evoking affections

I want to be like Esther. I want to possess these same qualities. I pray that God will shape me and mold me to be more like her.

On a side note ---> I would highly recommend this bible study! I have learned so much, and even though God is not mentioned one time within this chapter of the bible, you can undeniably feel and see His presence.

What I Wore: Easter Edition
Hello! I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter Sunday, I know I sure did! I got to go to a wonderful church service, and praise my risen Savior! It was also a gorgeous day, and I spent it with the people I love most.
I thought for this post I would share not only my outfit, but also some shots of my family!

My brother (pictured on the left) also has a blog! You can check it out at .adapperdude.blogspot.com

I bought this gorgeous Lilly Pulitzer dress last summer on major sale for a cruise I was going on. I thought that it would work perfect for Easter as well!
I can't find the exact dress, but I found one similar here.
